Just spent half an hour reworking how I’ll present the next “reveal” in one of the central mysteries of this novel.
Now is one of those moments of self doubt.
I’ve set up some pretty awesome red herrings, several shocking twists, romantic and sexual tension and a few mysteries for good measure. All set in 1896 Troy.
Do I have the writing chops to pull this off?
Boy, I hope so.

All right, question for the lawyers who know NY law.
First of all, let’s say a man dies in 1896 Troy without a will. He is married but has no children.
What happens to the assets? I assume things go through probate? Does someone from the family or from the state get declared an executor?
Any help/resources you can suggest would be very appreciated!

Author’s Mood: Blindly Optimistic. I’m pushing for 50,000 words before I take a break to go on vacation to GeekFest. I also need to work 40 hours a week, bathe myself on a semi-regular basis, and write this blog.
Greetings, intrepid reader!
I’m a writer currently working on my second novel.
I wanted to create a record of my progress. Not only is it a great way to practice self-flagellation in a public sphere, it is damn fun to blow off steam.
Come along for the ride, and maybe someday we’ll all look back on this fondly.
